Updated to reflect change in Saturday game time
The Aledo Ladycats head to the regional volleyball tournament at 7 p.m. in Moody Coliseum on the campus of Abilene Christian University.
The Ladycats will face powerhouse Amarillo, who defeated Canyon Randall 25-23, 25-13, 25-23. Aledo defeated Byron Nelson 25-12, 25-19, 25-23.
The matchup between Aledo and Amarillo will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10. The winner of that match will play the winner of the Dumas/Burleson match on Saturday at 12 p.m.
A 7:00 pm start from Central High School Gym in Keller.

Game 2 starts off with a 7-4 Ladycats lead when Nelson gets serve back.
Big plays from Mykah Wilson, Brianna Sharrat and
Sarah Smith during that run. It's 9-9 and Aledo loses the serve. Another kill from Brianna gets Aledo serve back. 11 all Aledo serving. 14-11 Aledo and another Nelson timeout. Mykah and Brianna's play at the net leads the Ladycats to a 19-12 lead. Ashley, Haylee and Raygan are going all out for every dig.
Raygan McClelland's serve gets the score all the way to 22-13 before Nelson gets another serve.
23-15 Aledo, Nelson serves. 23-17 Ladycats, they take a timeout. Nelson still has serve. 23-19 Aledo and the Nelson Bobcats serve.

The Aledo Ladycats defeated Denton 25-10, 25-12, 25-13 Friday to capture the area championship in volleyball. The match was played at Brewer High School. The Ladycats will play Byron Nelson for a chance to advance to the regional tournament at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Keller Central High School.
Granbury won the toss and deferred.

Jonny Carter returns the kickoff out to the Aledo 28 yard line. The drive gets off to a tough start, until a Pate Davis to Caleb Frysinger pass gets the Bearcats a first down at their 40 yard line.
A third down Davis to Taco Anderson pass gets the ball all the way down to the Pirates 5 yard line. On the next play Pate Davis carries to the left side for Aledo's first points. After the Chance Nevarez PAT, the score is Aledo 7 Granbury 0.
Granbury overcomes a penalty on their first series to make a first down. Aledo's Jonny Carter recovers a Pirate fumble and returns it to the Granbury 23, then Caleb Frysinger has a nice run up the middle. Pate Davis runs 23 yards for another Bearcat touchdown. PAT good, 14-0 Aledo.
Tyson Mauser and Zach Hyles anchor a strong defensive series and the Pirates are forced to punt the ball back to the Bearcats.
Frysinger up the middle for a couple of tough yards and a Bearcat first down. A 15 yard pass to Matthew Hawkins, then a 13 yard Frysinger touchdown run. 21-0 Bearcats after the Nevarez PAT.
The Pirates have some success on their next series, but Gunner Johnson and Jordan Mittie seem to be everywhere the ball is. A big tackle for a loss by Gunner Johnson forces another Granbury punt.
The Bearcats fumble at their 40 yard line and the Pirates get another chance.
The Pirates go for it on a 4th down, but the Bearcat defense holds. Aledo ball at their 42 yard line.

Raygan McLelland served aces on the final two points of the first game in Aledo's 25-17,25-14,25-16 bi-district win over Burleson Centennial on Tuesday.
Next stop for the Ladycats is the Area Championship round against Denton, which will be played at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at Brewer High School.

Having won the coin toss, Aledo receives at the East end.
Jonny Carter returns the kickoff out to the Aledo 47 yard line. One first down later, the Raider defense forces a Bearcat quick kick from a running formation.
Raiders will start at their own 20 yard line. The Raiders make two first downs before they have to punt the ball back to the Bearcats.
A penalty on the punting team gives Aledo the ball at the Raiders 48 yard line. A Pate Davis to Quanel Williams pass gives the Bearcats a first down at the Raiders 32. Davis to Baker Roberson for another first down at the 13 when a fumble is recovered by the Raiders.
The Raiders work from their own 15 yard line. One first down is all the Bearcat defense will allow, and the Bearcats will have the ball at their own 20 yard line after the punt.
Pate Davis, then Jess Anders carry the ball for another Aledo first down, Davis is tackled for a loss, then carries for 15 yards on the next two carries. Bearcats first down at the Raiders 35 yard line. Jess Anders for 13 yards to the 21 and another Aledo first down.
A fourth down conversion fails and the Raiders take over on downs at their 14 yard line. A Raider fumble is recovered at the 9 yard line.
The Bearcats only need one play, a 9 yard run by Caleb Frysinger off the left side for a Bearcat touchdown. 7-0 Bearcats.
The Raiders are unable to make a first down. Aledo's defense is finding their rythm. Aledo gets the ball at their own 46 after the Raiders are forced to punt.
The Aledo Ladycats will play a practice game against Coppell Friday, Oct. 26 at 5:30 p.m. in the Don Daniel Ninth Grade Campus gym.
The bi-district playoff will be at Burleson Centennial at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30.

The Bearcat defense holds and the Cougars punt to Jonny Carter, who returns it to the Aledo 27. Pate Davis to Caleb Frysinger. From 51 yards away another Pate Davis to Taco Anderson Bubble Screen to the right side results in another Bearcat touchdown. PAT is good. 14-0 Aledo with about 8 minutes left in the 1st quarter.
Again, the Bearcat defense is solid. Western Hills' punt rolls to the Aledo 10 yard line.
Jess Anders first carry of the drive is for 34 yards out to the 44 yard line. Caleb Frysinger gets 8 to the 42 and Quanel Williams covers 18 yards to the Western Hills 32 yard line. Jess Anders next carry is for the last 32 yards. Aledo leads 21-0 after the Nevarez extra point.
The Western Hills Cougars are able to overcome a couple of penalties and move the ball out to their 41 yard line with a couple of first downs.
The Bearcats stop the drive before the Cougars get into their end of the field. Jonny Carter returns the Cougar's punt out to the Aledo 33.
Jess Anders carries up the middle all the way to the Western Hills 13 yard line. Caleb Frysinger and the entire offensive line, carry the ball to the 2 for a first down. Caleb Frysinger again over the left side for the Aledo touchdown. The Bearcats lead is now 28-0 in the 2nd quarter.
It occurs to me, again tonight, that Bearcat Stadium in Aledo is a nice place to watch the sun set behind the Scoreboard at the West end.

Wyatt responds with a drive that has the ball at the Aledo 30 yard line quickly, from their own 20. They are at the Bearcat 5 yard line when a holding penalty backs them up to the 17.
They go for it on a fourth and 17 and the Bearcat defense stops them at the Aledo 1 yard line with 99 yards to cover.
Aledo is held to 3 plays, but a good punt gives the Chaps the ball back at their own 35.
The Bearcat defense forces a punt and they have the ball back at their 43. A nice pass from Pate Davis to Caleb Frysinger moves the ball to the Wyatt 27. Jess Anders runs it 24 yards and Caleb Frysinger takes it in from there. The PAT is good, Bearcats lead 14-0 with 1:30 in the 1st Quarter.
A Jared Hinsley tackle for a loss and a nice stop by Shea Wood in the open field will end the first quarter 14-0 Bearcats.
Aledo will get the ball back at their own 46 yard line after a Clayton Lowe return for a touchdown is taken off the board for a blocking in the back penalty.
A 7:00 kickoff is scheduled from Handley Field.
It's still a little on the warm side, but some cloud cover is cooling off East Fort Worth. A nice night for a Texas High School Football Game.

The South Hills Scorpions will operate from their own 25 yard line.
After allowing a single first down on defense, the Bearcats get the ball back at their own 13 after a nice return is negated by a penalty on the punt return.
The Bearcats drive is again interrupted by a penalty. They still manage to keep the drive moving and a Pate Davis to Willie Gibson touchdown covers the last 45 yards. 13-0 Aledo after a missed PAT.
South Hills has a drive going until Shea Woods intercepts a pass to give Aledo another chance from their own 35 yard line, the best starting field position so far tonight.
A long run by Jess Anders is again wiped out by a holding penalty.
