Makeup event planned for Cowtown Marathon

March 27, 2015 by Phil Major

Event Date:
Thu, 04/02/2015 - 3:00pm

A makeup 5K event for Aledo Bearcat Runners Club student members who did not get to participate in the Cowtown Marathon will be held Thursday, April 2 from 3-5 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium.
Most of the marathon’s series of races had to be canceled due to inclement weather March 1.
Kids can earn their Cowtown finishers’ medal by completing 12 laps at the stadium track any time between 3-5. It will not be a race but a come-and-go event organized by Coder Elementary PE teacher Becky Shaunfield.
The Cowtown Marathon will bring its inflatable finish line and a water station, and possibly some snacks.
Any child younger than 18 can receive their finisher’s medal. Wear the orange runners club shirt and the blue Cowtown bib and walk or run the 12 laps.

March 16, 2015 by Phil Major

Event Date:

April is the month of the military child, providing an opportunity to recognize and honor the service of the youngest heroes, military children. Help turn Aledo ISD purple on April 15 for Purple Up! for Military Kids!
Wearing purple is a visible way to show support and thank military youth for their strength and sacrifices. Purple symbolizes all branches of the military, as it is the combination of Army green, Marine red, Coast Guard, Navy and Air Force blue. Be creative….the goal is for military youth to see they have thanks and support.

Event Date:
Sat, 10/25/2014 - 9:00am

The pumpkin patch is Oct. 25 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Aledo First Financial Bank on FM 1187.
This has been a huge success in the past and has helped raise money to cover the transportation costs involved in spring trips. Both campuses will have a spring trip again this year, and this fundraiser can be a huge help in reducing costs for each family.
