Phil LumsdenMayor of Annetta Phil Lumsden has resigned from office and made it official last Thursday.
Hudson Oaks Mayor Pat Deen said that Lumsden wants to spend more time with his family. According to Annetta City Councilman Chester Tucker, Mayor Pro-Tem Bruce Pinckard will run the city. Tucker also said that another resignation may come in Annetta city government, but did not reveal whom it may be.
Deen will be honoring Lumsden tonight at the Hudson Oaks City Council meeting. Other area mayors and leaders, as well as citizens, are expected to attend to give the resigning mayor a proper send off.
The Hudson Oaks City Council meets tonight at 7 p.m. at Hudson Oaks City Hall, 210 N. Lakeshore.

Texas RangersStudents had special guests at Trinity Christian Academy Friday afternoon. Grandparents were allowed to come in and experience a school day with their grandchildren.
Students also dressed up in celebration of the Texas Rangers' winning the division series playoffs over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rangers now play the New York Yankees for the American League Pennant. If Texas wins, it would be the first trip to the World Series in the franchise's 49-year history. Click below to see pictures from the day's events.
East Parker County Business ExpoThe East Parker County Chamber of Commerce Business Expo is Thursday, Oct. 14 from 4-8 p.m. at Willow Park Baptist Church. The expo will include numerous vendors from the local area. Food will be available from Baker's Ribs, Bordelon Foods, The Wild Mushroom Steakhouse and Ultimate Cupcake. Everyone who attends will have a chance to win a 32" Flat Screen TV donated by Weatherford Regional Medical Center.
The event is free and open to the public.

A recent study by the American Academy of Pediatrics showed that while almost all 13-year-old babysitters know who to contact if there is an intruder or a child is sick, injured or poisoned, 40 percent of younger babysitters reported that they had left children unattended while babysitting, and 20 percent opened the door to strangers.
