If the Aledo Bearcats are to continue their basketball season, they must beat Fort Worth South Hills Tuesday night in the final regular season game. The two are tied at 6-7 for the final playoff spot in District 7-4A, after Aledo's 52-43 loss to Arlington Heights Saturday, coupled with South Hills' 47-45 win over Granbury.
Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center. Aledo won the first match 56-44.
Aledo boys basketball games are canceled for tonight.
Games will be played Saturday, Feb. 8 as follows:
9thB at Burleson 12:00 and 1:30 p.m.

9thA at 4:30 p.m.
JV at 6:00
Varsity at 7:30
Aledo Lady Cats edged Trimble Tech 60-57 to complete an undefeated 14-0 district season Tuesday.
The University Interscholastic League announced new alignments at 9 a.m., and Aledo has been moved out of a district dominated by Fort Worth schools.
The new district, 8-5A, includes Burleson, Burleson Centennial, Crowley, Cleburne, Everman, Joshua and Granbury with Aledo. The old District 7 includes seven Fort Worth schools.
The new alignment is for football and basketball.
Aledo High School soccer games with Azle have been canceled tonight (Tuesday) due to extreme cold temperatures
The JV game will not be made up per District 12-4A policy.
The varsity game will be played tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Azle stadium. The game will be played on the new turf in the stadium, not the grass fields that were used in the past.
The latest word we have is that the Aledo-Wichita Falls game will be played tomorrow (Friday) at 5 p.m. at Northwest. If that game can't be played, the next option will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Springtown.

This Saturday, (Oct. 12), the Bearcat Regiment will host its annual “Unleash the Sound” competition at Bearcat Stadium. A total of 20 3A, 4A and 5A bands will perform throughout the day, culminating in an evening of presentations from the best bands which will play in the final round of competition. This is the largest number of bands to attend the Aledo ISD event, which means there will be music for everyone!
Gates open at 9:30 a.m. with the first band performing at 11 a.m.
The Ladycats varsity softball team will play Denton Guyer in the second round of the playoffs. The best of three series starts at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Aledo. The 'Cats will play at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Guyer, and a third game will be Saturday at 7:30 p.m. if needed at a site TBD.
The Ladycats softball team beat Waco's University High School 10-0 in the first game of the playoffs. The next game in the best of three series will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at University.
