Aledo led 4-2 going into the final frame. In the top of the seventh inning, Riley Sartain reached on an error and was sacrificed to second base by clean-up hitter Chickie Cook.

Sartain advanced to third base on a wild pitch, and the next batter, Kadyn Kirkpatrick, walked. Kirkpatrick promptly stole second base giving AHS runners on second and third.
